Pete Britos Bio

Aloha, my name is Pete. I've been at HPU teaching for a few years now.  I like the downtown location, my great grandfather was a fireman on Fort Street Mall. Previous to teaching at HPU, I was the Gallery Director and a curator for the Hawaii State Art Museum a couple of blocks away on Hotel Street, at Capitol Building No. 1.

Before that I taught at the University of Hawaii, where I was Founding Director of the Academy for Creative Media.  Previous to that I taught at USC School of Cinematic Arts and at UC Santa Barbara Film Studies Department.

I like writing in a few different genres, including graphic novel, screenplays and critical analysis of media. I've written and produced for radio, TV, film, corporate communications and gaming.

I also enjoy painting, graphic design and other visual media.  I coach juniors in sports like golf, basketball, tennis, racquetball, soccer, squash and water sports.
